Strengthening Innovative Pedagogical Practices at the University of Split – Knowledge Transfer Workshop for Teachers

As part of the Heal4ALL project; aimed at improving higher education through innovative pedagogical approaches, a knowledge transfer workshop for teachers was held at the University of Split.
The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Sc. Irena Drmić Hofman and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Ivana Carev, leaders of the Heal4ALL project. The workshops covered the topics of Designing Effective Curricula: Structure, Learning Outcomes and Innovative Pedagogical Approaches, and Integration of Innovative Teaching Methods – Open Pedagogy and Community-Based Learning in Curriculum Design.

The training is a continuation of the previous two-day training for teachers and experts from partner organizations on Design Thinking, Open Pedagogy and Service Learning.
This workshop represented a key step in empowering teachers to apply the acquired knowledge in a real educational context, with the aim of achieving sustainable changes in curricular approach and teaching practice.
The workshop was designed to enable the exchange of good practices and successful examples among teachers within the University, jointly develop new teaching modules and activities based on innovative pedagogical approaches, identify further needs for training and resources to ensure sustainable implementation.

The workshop contributed to strengthening the capacities of 22 teachers from several components of the University of Split, to apply modern and participatory approaches in teaching, develop concrete teaching materials ready for use in the classroom, strengthen communities of practice within the University, thereby encouraging continuous cooperation and knowledge exchange, and establish concrete action plans for the long-term integration of innovative methods into the curriculum and professional development of teachers.

After the workshop, it was planned to include interested teachers in thematic regional meetings and workshops to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and disseminate good practice. This activity showed a strong potential for transforming teaching practice and confirmed the importance of joint learning and support in the process of implementing pedagogical innovations.
